Organizations Bethany United Methodist Church participates in our shared community ministry with other local churches. Somerset Area Ministries (SAM) our local ministerium draws leaders from over 20 different area churches for fellowship, prayer, and shared ministry. The Somerset Cluster of 14 United Methodist Churches brings us together for activities such as Summer Day Camp at Camp Allegheny. Activities SAM Lenten/Advent Services: Noon each Wednesday throughout Lent, at the First United Methodist Church on Patriot Street, and through Advent at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. A brief service led by local pastors, with lunch to follow. The service and lunch conclude by 1:00 p.m. SAM Van: A Free Medical Van Service which takes area residents to hospitals or doctor's appointments in Pittsburgh or Johnstown. Call 443-6354 to make an appointment. This van service is supported by the churches of Somerset County. We’re always looking for volunteer drivers, too! Somerset Cluster Day Camp: Each year, the 14 local United Methodist Churches coordinate a day camp over four consecutive days at Camp Allegheny. Kids get an opportunity to experience what camp is all about through daily camp's activities, lunch, and a Bible lesson. Transportation is provided from Somerset, Friedens, and Kantner. Information and registration material is available by Easter each year. Adult Bell Choir on Monday evenings 7PM Adult Choir Wednesdays Evenings 7:00 PM Children Choir and Bell Choir on Saturday mornings at 9AM. Teen Youth Group, Pre-teen Youth group, Men’s Group – Ramps R Us – where we meet and build handicap ramps for deserving families. A Family Support Group meets on Tuesday Evenings at 6:30 PM. Special Activities: Breakfast on the Mountain the last Sunday in July at Laurel Ridge State Park – breakfast and worship out in God’s fresh air. Church Picnic last Sunday of June at the Reese’s Grove all are welcome and invited to join us.
